During the July 7 board meeting, the Kershaw County School Board approved several administrative recommendations including naming Cynthia Jowers as the new director of student services, Kristi Brown as the new assistant principal of Wateree Elementary, and Reagan Payseur as the new assistant principal of Midway Elementary.

Families of returning Kershaw County School District students—including families who completed their pre-kindergarten or kindergarten students’ initial enrollment this spring—will receive an email with their students’ registration codes and instructions to complete the online registration process on Monday, July 6.

Four- and five-year-old kindergartners will once again begin school on a staggered start schedule for the 2026-2027 school year. Under Act 114 of 2024, Kershaw County School District is implementing an innovative approach to helping students adjust to difficult transition years with a 2026-2027 school calendar that provides a staggered start for four- and five-year-old kindergarten students.

During the May 26 Special Called Board of Trustees Meeting, the Kershaw County School District Board of Trustees approved two administrative hires, naming Rhea Faris as the new principal of Lugoff-Elgin High School and Dr. Danielle Reilly as the new principal of Wateree Elementary School.
